“How Basketball Went Global” by fitness coach Dre Baldwin
As a basketball player with 9 years professional experience, Dre shared how some embarrassing American defeats set the stage for the globalization of basketball. They were our bad losses, but the world’s gain.
“Rape, Drugs, and Pornography: A Story of Human Trafficking in Miami” by attorney Roy Altman
‘United States v. Lavont Flanders, Jr. and Emerson Callum‘ was a serial rapeand pornography case that spanned five years, involved more than 50 victims, combined the efforts of at least 10 federal and local agencies, and represents the first federal case of its kind in the United States. Altman shared his experience in prosecuting these villains.
“Personalities in Math History and the Mathematical Experience”

When people are asked to describe their experience with mathematics, responses are typically polarized. Hoff will attempt to describe the nature of mathematics as a language, philosophy, and creative endeavor closer in relation to the humanities than the empirical sciences. She will discuss some of the eccentric personalities in math history and try to answer the question: is mathematics created or discovered?
